In this article we treat the ways of Breganze Wine, produced in an extraordinary territory between the hills and the Vicenza plain.

The Ways of Breganze Wine is mainly produced in the Vicenza foothills, between the valleys of the Astico river and those of the Brenta river, in a land of great wine-growing tradition. In fact, the vine was present in the area during the Roman dominations, but finds its first written records in the period of the Republic of Venice, where Vespaiolo was mentioned, in the great stories of the events of the time.

Ways of Breganze Wine

In this wonderful territory, on the slopes of the Asiago plateau, we find a very favorable climate for the cultivation of these plants, which is characterized by hot summers and relatively cold winters, and with constant rainfall all year round. The symbol of the Breganze DOC wine is the Vespaiolo grape, which is vinified in three versions, still, sparkling and passito. In the latter case, it takes the name of the famous Torcolato sweet wine, also highly appreciated by bees for its sweetness.

Vespaiolo wine has an interesting predisposition to aging and is also recognized by non-experts for its straw yellow color, for its extraordinary freshness, with floral and fruity notes, such as acacia and citrus fruits. In particular, the white wines of Breganze DOC are characterized by a delicate and fresh flavor, with fruity and mineral aromas, instead the red ones are enhanced by a good structure, with a color from ruby red to brick red and a certain softness.
