In this chapter we deal with the symbolic places, the imposing villas and the most characteristic cities in Upper Padova territory.

In this article we discuss the Upper Padova area, a territory in continuous growth, rich in typical products and precious jewels not to be missed. In particular, the territory in the rich countryside along the course of the Brenta river, through ancient villas and grandiose walled cities, destination over time of saints, artists and free thinkers.

We begin our journey with the grandiose city of Cittadella, with its amazing city walls built by the Padovans between 1220 and 1221, it is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful medieval fortifications in Europe. We continue towards Villa Contarini, one of the largest Venetian villas designed by Andrea Palladio, located in the background of the main square of Piazzola sul Brenta.

The villa preserves in the central body the original Auditorium and the Music Room, also called "of the inverted guitar". Finally Villa Cornaro di Piombino Dese, another great masterpiece designed by Andrea Palladio for the control of the Venetian countryside.

Despite the changes reported after the Second World War in the seventies and eighties, Villa Cornaro maintains a good state of conservation and is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
