The Gardena and Fassa Dolomites, called North-western Dolomites, they are among the most impressive and evocative mountains in the area. The main summit of this section is the Marmolada, the undisputed queen of the Dolomites and world heritage site with its 3,343 meters of height, surrounded by a group of mountain groups each more distinctive and fascinating than the other.
These mountain groups, besides being fascinating, carry with them wounds and signs of several wars fought between these walls. Below we will try to bring out the wonderful mountain groups that are located in the Veneto region and also those that exceed the boundaries, given the majesty and difficulty of managing these gigantic natural works of art.
The Sella Group, the Sassolungo Group, the Alpe di Siusi Group, the Puez Group, the Odle Group, the Plose-Putia Group, the Sciliar Massif, the Dolomites of Val Gardena and Fassa are part of the Catinaccio Group, the Marmolada Group and the Chain of Bocche.
In the northern part of the section there are the Dolomites of Gardena while the Dolomites of Fassa are located to the south.
