In this chapter we treat the pretty town of Lonigo, located on the border with the province of Vicenza and surrounded by the green Berici Hills.
Lonigo is a small and charming town located on the border between the province of Verona and the green expanses of the Berici Hills. The first settlements found in the surrounding hills date back to the Bronze Age.
Not to be missed: the Duomo, also called the church of the Santissimo Redentore, built with Neoromanesque forms; the Sanctuary of Santa Maria dei Miracoli, a Gothic church with a chapel decorated with Baroque frescoes;
the Rocca Pisana, Venetian villa in Palladian style, designed by the architect Vincenzo Scamozzi in 1576 for the client and landowner Vettor Pisani. In the small village of Bagnolo, we also find one of the UNESCO protected Palladian masterpieces, Villa Pisani.
