In this chapter we discuss one of the most characteristic and historical cities of the province of Verona: San Bonifacio.
San Bonifacio is a small town in the province of Verona, located south of the town of Soave on the border with the province of Vicenza. The pearl of the city is certainly the Abbey of San Pietro, (VII century), a Romanesque church with three naves, with an imposing bell tower on the left side that dates back to Roman times and which, probably, was originally part of one of the defense towers.
Inside we find one of the most beautiful Romanesque crypts of the Veneto, very suggestive thanks to the play of shadows and lights in the vaults and in the intercolumns. Worth seeing, certainly, is the right aisle, which was part of the ancient church dedicated to St. Peter.
