In this chapter we discuss one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, Borghetto, one of the most evocative and characteristic of the Veneto region.

Borghetto, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, is located on the borders between Veneto and Lombardy, between the Virgilio and the Seriola Prevaldesca canals, which flow gently between the coves and rushes of these wonderful lands. This village was a strategic ford on the river Mincio. Now, instead, the village expresses all the poetry of a small village with a medieval atmosphere thanks to the old mills and the many swans that swim peacefully.

Borghetto has Lombard origins and its name means "fortified settlement". In fact, this village arose in a strategic point: here the customs officer lived and collected money for the crossing and navigation of the river.

Today Borghetto is only a handful of houses built along the river Mincio but still preserves Medieval traces in the stone houses, in the old church bell tower, in the two ruined fortresses of the Visconti bridge and in the old mills.

Its timeless charm changes with the passing of the hours and the seasons, you need only an aperitif at sunset in one of the many places to fall in love with this village. Moreover, this area is ideal for those who love mountain biking and outdoor sports.
