In this chapter we discuss a very characteristic and particularly majestic rock formation of the Zoldo Dolomites, the Moiazza Group.
The Moiazza Group is a mountain range of the Zoldo Dolomites and is located between the Civetta Group and the San Sebastiano-Tamer Group, between the typical village of Agordo and the characteristic village of Zoldo Alto.
Its highest peaks are the South Moiazza, of 2,878 meters, and the Cima delle Sasse of 2,878 meters. The Moiazza North of 2,865 meters and the Cima della Moiazzetta della Grava of 2,727 meters are also impressive.
One of the most evocative walls of the entire 850 meters high Moiazza Group is the Nevere Castle, conquered for the first time by Alfonso Vinci, Paolo Riva and Camillo Giumelli in 1936.
