In this chapter we discuss one of the most lively, famous and overwhelming areas of the island of Venice, Santa Margherita Campo.
The lively Santa Margherita Campo has recently become the meeting point of choice for young people (thanks also to the proximity of the Ca 'Foscari University) and tourists, all attracted by shops, pizzerias, bookshops and clubs that offer live music in the summer . The square buzzes with life even in the morning when the small but characteristic market is in full swing. The church of Santa Margherita, located north of the campo, has been transformed into an auditorium belonging to the university while the bell tower, ruined on the opposite side, after several modifications was destroyed in 1810.
